Precious & Jerald’s Wedding Photography – Garstang Golf Club

Garstang Golf Club Wedding.

We featured Precious’s bridal shower/kitchen party a few months ago, Last Saturday we were the wedding photographers at her wedding to Jerald. The wedding day started at Garstang Golf club.

Garstang Golf Club Wedding Morning.

I started with the bride and her bridesmaids while Lloyd joined the groom and his groomsmen.
Precious and her bridesmaids were pretty chilled and enjoying the day, hair and make up were well on the way when I got there and Heather the wedding videographer was already set up and filming.
Their dresses and shoes were laid out so I started with them then the girls. The light in the room was perfect and the girls were beautiful so I snapped away and was delighted with the results.
Later at St Peters church I joined Lloyd who’d traveled with the guys, Jerald looked nervous and excited but was getting plenty support, distraction and a little nerve settler (from a hip flask) from his best men.

Once everybody was settled in the church the bride and bridesmaids gathered outside, Precious looked stunning as she entered the church and Jerald managed to keep looking forward as his bride walked down the isle towards him.
The wedding service was lovely and rev. Ron kept it light and personal. After the wedding service Lloyd checked if the rain had gone off but unfortunately it hadn’t so we took some of the group photographs in the church before heading back to the hotel for the wedding reception.
The majority of the wedding guests were taken from the church back to The Garstang Golf club hotel in a double decker bus.
We arrived arrived back at the hotel before the wedding guests and I left  Lloyd to photograph the guests arriving while I photographed the room where the wedding breakfast would be held.
By the time I had finished the rain had gone off so we gathered the guests for the full group shot and few more groups in the grounds before the guests settled down to the wedding breakfast. The bridal party were announced and led in by a procession of the bridesmaids dancing followed by the newlyweds dancing in behind them.
The speeches followed the starter and as always the groom was in for a little bit of a ribbing but all in good fun. we photographed the wedding speeches and captured some good reactions from the couple before everybody settled down to eat giving us a chance to catch our breath and have a quick bite to eat.
Once the wedding breakfast was over the sun was out and the light was ideal to get some more photographs, the couple had requested a few specific and quirky shots starting in the bar then moving out onto the golf course.
We mingled and set up for the first dance photographs for a wile as the room was turned around ready for the evening wedding guests to arrive.
Before the wedding cake was cut there was a ceremonial knife dance being led by the bride, followed by her bridesmaids and the knife bearer.

The couple were quickly joined by their guests during first dance and this again made for some great photographs.

As the wedding photographers we had a fantastic day.

The Hotel not only makes an idyllic setting but the gardens can provide the perfect backdrop for your photos. With a gazebo and pagoda sharing the lawn with the old trees and colourful beds on one side and the golf course, trees and daffodil maze on the other it is no wonder we are a hugely popular venue with our couples. It is not only our weddings that appreciate the gardens, in 2010 we were given an award acknowledging the quality of the gardens by the Royal Horticultural Society and have won this award every year since.
