Wedding Day at Birtsmorton Court

Birtsmorton Court Wedding Day SJ

Birtsmorton Court Wedding.

Sharon & Jason were married at Birtsmorton Court. The wedding service was held outside in the beautiful gardens.
We arrived early and started photographing Jason and his best men as they prepared for Jason’s wedding day, all three quite chilled and relaxed.

I joined Sharon as she was having her makeup and hair done. She looked stunning especially as she had only had 23 minutes sleep the night before!
The wedding service was beautiful and the guests enjoyed the setting and scenery of Birtsmorton while we took Sharon & Jason for a walk. We found a beautiful corn field with the sun setting in the distance where we set up and took some stunning photographs.
The wedding day was finished off with a fantastic firework display.

This 12th Century Medieval Moated Manor House is a rich tapestry of fine fabrics, beautiful antiques, stunning gardens and grounds. The Court is surrounded by a substantial moat, with a beautiful Terrace that overlooks the water. Within the grounds, the White Garden provides a romantic, sheltered and intimate space for entertainment or speeches. As a family home, the Court offers genuine privacy, exclusivity and serenity, and as a family run business the Birtsmorton Court team provide a personal service, offering support and professional expertise.

  2. I’ve been looking forward to featuring this wedding for some time. Everything about this Birtsmorton Court wedding was perfect. The couple, the venue, the guests. Birtsmorton Court has to be one of my favourite Worcestershire wedding venues. Actually, one of my favourite UK wedding venues full stop. This medieval moated manor house near Malvern in The Cotswolds just oozes class and makes a dramatic backdrop to any wedding day.

As is normal, the day started with bridal preparations, champagne, makeup, music and laughter. This is always a great time to capture the anticipation of the day to come. Once in her dress, Claire, her father and the bridal party made their way through the grounds of Birtsmorton Court to the Anglican church of St. Thomas of Canterbury with St. Peter and St. Paul, a charming 14th Century church just a stones throw from Birtsmorton Court. This small, intimate church provided the perfect setting for Claire and Matt’s wedding ceremony.

After a champagne reception outside on the terrace overlooking the moat, it was off to the White Garden for some rather emotional speeches. And I really do mean emotional. I like it when couples choose to vary the flow of their day, in this case having speeches before the wedding breakfast. It adds another personal touch and proves you don’t need to follow a formula. It’s your day. Do it your way.

The guests then made their way to the marquee whilst I followed Claire and Matt for a walk around the grounds. I do this with quite a few of my couples. It gives them a chance to spend some quality time together, just the two of them, and it allows me to offer some really intimate, unposed, natural portraits.

A delicious meal and a rocking live band wrapped up the rest of the wedding, not forgetting of course the incredible firework display from across the moat. This really was a terrific way to end a terrific day.

Here is a selection of my favourite photographs from this Birtsmorton Court wedding.

  3. You’ll have exclusive use of Birtsmorton Court along with its exquisite formal gardens and surrounding parkland. We can adapt your arrangements according to the weather, even on the day itself.

Our parish church is only a few steps away, so whether you want a church or civil wedding ceremony, your entire day can take place here. We also have luxury accommodation on site sleeping up to 16 guests.

“I could not recommend Birtsmorton enough. We wanted a relaxed summer party wedding and this is exactly what we got!”

  4. Saturday 27th September was a perfect late summer’s wedding day with warm, hazy sunshine shining through the trees. The perfect day in fact for Catherine & Nick’s outdoor civil ceremony in the stunning White Garden at Birtsmorton Court. Catherine & Nick have been kind enough to share their story and their experience of getting married at Birtsmorton Court with us. It was a lovely day, for a lovely couple…
