Somerset Cheese Cider & Moozic Fest 2015

Somerset Cheese Cider & Moozic Fest 2015

This year’s Somerset Cheese, Cider & Moozic Fest was bigger than ever, I have photographed this event for them since it started 4 years ago. Each year it has been amazing. The festival has grown each year and this year it had outgrown its venue. It was now being held on the field across the road.

As well as growing in size this year would be the first time it would be a 3 day event. The festival kicked off on Friday with a bit of a warm-up day. Everybody gathered at Cricketers Farm at 10 am. We climbed onboard the open top bus for a traditional breakfast of cheese & cider. As we set off towards Bishops Lydeard Train station. Most of the party headed off on the steam train. I went with a small group to the Sheppy’s Cider Factory for a tour. A history lesson and of course some delicious cheese & cider.

Back at Cricketers Farm.

After our trips, the whole party headed back to Cricketers Farm where the music was getting started. Campers were arriving and setting up camp for a weekend of fun. The music was great and had the crowd up and dancing. The Somerset Cheese, Cider and Moozic fest was off and running, The sun was shining and the festival goers were all in good spirits. We were all set for another fantastic event.

The next morning brought more festival-goers as well as ‘sport aware’  activities organised by Somerset County Cricket Club. The official opening of the new children’s play area and of course lots of excellent photo opportunities for me.

With all the stalls set up. The cider kegs tapped and enough cheese to keep all the festival goers fuelled for a week laid out we were off. It was great to see some familiar faces. There both the revellers and some of the bands I have enjoyed over the past few years.
Partying went on well past me falling asleep and I think my assistant Lloyd was the last to bed (oh to be a teenager again!!!)

The day after.

The next morning was a real wind down. A delicious cooked breakfast was supplied by Cricketer Farm with lots of local produce for us. It was just what I needed for others it really was necessary to cure the excesses of yesterday.
Like previous years there were plenty of stalls with local vendors and good availability. All accompanied by an acoustic trio to ease everybody into another beautiful day.

As always the Somerset Cheese, Cider and Moozic Fest was an amazing success. A real pleasure to be involved with photographing this event. I am already looking forward to next years festival. So sorry but I will not be taking any wedding photography booking this weekend, that is unless you fancy getting married there?…………

See you next year for Somerset Cheese Cider Moozic Fest 2016.
