Kayleigh & Duane at Cripps Barn Wedding

Cripps Barn Wedding.

Kayleigh & Duane’s Cripps Barn wedding day in this beautiful isolated 18th-Century Cotswold stone barn set in the lovely countryside near Bibury Coln Valley makes for a stunning wedding venue and one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph.

Cripps Barn Wedding Pictures.

The couple and their wedding guests were so much fun to work with and as always the staff at Cripps Barn were helpful friendly and made the day run like clockwork.

The venue has a new chef and although the food is always great it has gone up another notch.

  1. Cripps Barn at Bibury in Gloucestershire is one of my favourite Gloucestershire venues. It’s quite a secluded venue and as such benefits from a 1am licence which really can make all the difference to the evening entertainment.

The barn itself is a beautiful and well worth spending the whole day within. However, there are a few other unique treats available at Cripps Barn like the sheltered woodland glade where you can choose to hold your marriage vows, a bonfire area and even completely free camping for guests.

This is a quintessentially English venue with all the traditional trimmings but relaxed enough to know how to hold a fantastic party. For a mix of style, class and fun, I’d choose Cripps Barn every time!

  2. My daughter Vic got married @ the Cripps Barn & it was a fantastic venue. It is remote, but everyone was aware of this & that’s what we wanted. We hired a coach to take guests from airport to the Barn, stopped off @ supermarket for food & beer ! This may of made the journey seem a lot longer for some. I did not play pool , after all there was a swimming pool 2 enjoy. Rooms were great, my door was left open all the time , we were with F& Fam, out of the 50 + guests all enjoyed themselves, my daughter planned this wedding for years in advance, time, & a lot of money, but it was well worth it. I could not pick holes in anything, fireworks were fantastic.

  3. Held my daughter’s wedding at The Barn and we couldn’t have been better looked after. The Barn looked lovely and the staff were incredible. A huge thank you to all concerned

  4. Fantastic wedding venue. Perfect in both summer and winter and the staff are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with.

  5. My daughter was married here in Jan 2013. From the time they contacted them until we left the morning after the wedding the experience was an absolute joy. Staff were helpful, courteous, couldn’t do enough, and their suggestions and advice sorted out any issues without any hassle. From the day before the wedding when we turned up for the rehearsal etc staff supported, helped with nerves and everything we needed! The day was perfection itself, venue, food, entertainment all went well due to the calm but excellent facilitation of the duty manager and his team. Nothing was too much trouble. Lord Jack and Lady Lydia even plant a rose bush in the garden to remember the happy couple. Doesn’t get more personal than that!

  6. We went to a wedding here and stayed the night, OMG, it was amazing! The best setting for a wedding ever. It was beautiful, the staff amazing and rooms incredible! if you get the chance stay, we had Spring room and the bath was huge! Loved every minute

  7. Howdy! This post couldn’t be written much better! Going through this article reminds me of my previous roommate!
He constantly kept talking about this. I am going to forward this article
to him. Pretty sure he’ll have a good read. Thank you for sharing!

  8. Me and my partner stayed for one night, we picked the best weather, we were extremely impressed with the room and the en suite was stunning, light and airy and extremely clean, and the room was very cosy at night. Really pleasant people, had a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend.

  9. I was the bride at the previous reviews stay. It was our wedding and literally our dreams came true.

Anna and Edward are such a lovely couple who were on hand when needed but out of sight knowing that is how we wanted our stay to be.

We went with 54 guests including our small children aged 3 and 4. We hired a bouncy castle for the duration of our stay which was great for them-little tip if you are travelling with youngsters.

Yes the pool table was a little tired, and balls were missing but my husband and his friends spent hours in there the day after the wedding and had 3 games of doubles which they all thoroughly enjoyed, the room and the table I feel add to the character of the ancient castle you are in.

The rooms as my uncle mentioned in the review – not all had locks, I personally didn’t see this as an issue as I was there with my closest friends and family so would never of felt the need to lock the door anyway.

The food on the wedding day was gorgeous, we had duck and it was the best I’ve tasted and duck is one of my favourite meats.

The wedding day itself ran smoothly. I wasn’t stressed not one bit and Anna was on helping hand although she was 2 days away from her due date of the now born lovely Charlie. She is very sweet and I have built up a good repor with her over the years of waiting to finally come here to marry.

We didn’t view the chateau in person before choosing this as our wedding view and it did not disapoint at all. It’s as stunning as you see in all the pics.

We done the wine tasting on the first day which I would highly recommend. The fireworks as well are a must. They really are fabulous.

We were very luck and had 2 days of good weather-including the wedding day!

Yes the chateau is very remote bit stock up well at the supearket. There are plenty of cooking resources at hand.

There is a village close by but our last day fell on May Day and everything was closed-nobody’s fault!

We absolutely loved our wedding and our time at chateau lagorce and can not wait to visit again.

A special thank you to Anna and Edward forsaking our stay so enjoyable and being on hand only when needed xxx

  10. The Chateau is in a remote area nearest city,Bordeaux. Very picturesque. Had 5 days here weather OK for the 1st 3.Some thought quite cold of an evening.Snooker table off the courtyard needs a bit of TLC few balls missing and the table ripped ,only 1 usable cue.Table tennis excellent.Bedrooms adequate but most had no locks.35 mins walk to supermarket and convenience shop a bit further.Wine tasting and barbecue 1 day average.Wedding day excellent canapes, magician superb.evening meal I think because of the speeches meant the timings for the food were not great.Think a car is needed and a long journey from Bergerac airport is long,if not longer than the plane journey from England. All in all could pick holes but maybe not my ideal choice but we had a good time

  11. It took a move of 12,000 miles for Alison and James to meet, but spending even a small amount of time with them, you know that they were meant to be together. I loved editing these photos, they made me smile so much, just seeing Alison and James grinning nonstop all day. It was such a huge priviledge for me to witness their wedding day, and it’s a day that will stay with me for a long time to come.

Alison got ready at a venue that I know very well, Barnsley House, which is just minutes away from Cripps Barn. James got ready at the equally stunning Wheatsheaf Inn. From there, they both headed to Cripps Barn in a beautiful vintage Jaguar, where they had their wedding ceremony and evening reception.

  12. Stone Barn is a lovely old Cotswold stone barn, magnificently-isolated in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds countryside near Aldsworth.

The Stone Barn is elegantly simple; with flag stone floors and an open fire place. Attached are Dutch Barns used as the Dining Area, and contains (we are pretty sure!) Britain’s largest barbecue. The Dutch Barns are split-level and have corrugated iron, polished concrete and sawn oak floors, and the view overlooks the spectacular, rolling Cotswold Hills with not another building in sight.

After the wedding and the meal, the stone barn makes the perfect place to party – right up to 12.30am in the morning.

Stone Barn is a small family run business and if it is a relaxed feel you want, with incredible food and great service, then this is the place for you!

We are known for our whole BBQ’d lambs, sirloin steak bricks or butterflied legs of lamb. Alternatively you can choose from our Rotisserie options including chicken with a cream and tarragon sauce, whole suckling pig with roast apples or even Gressingham duck with wine & blackcurrant sauce. We only use the best ingredients and serve it simply – generally in a feast style on boards and in bowls to the centre of the tables.

There is free camping available in the next door field. We also have a back-up generator in case of power cuts.

  19. Hi Coren and all the Cripps Barn and kitchen team, Thank you all so much for your part in creating a fabulous day for Robin and Ellie’s wedding. You were all unfailingly helpful, courteous and smiling, and that makes such an impact on everyone. We and our guests were able to really enjoy the day knowing that everything was in good hands. I am just so impressed with you all. Well done indeed! >Thankyou also to the kitchen staff, the food was great, generous portions and tasty. We are looking forward with relish to coming to Stone Barn for a friend’s wedding in the near future to be able to experience more of your cooking.

  20. HI Olivia, We just got back from our honeymoon which was amazing. Thanks for all of your help organising the wedding it was a fantastic day and everything went smoothly on the day thanks to Corinne too. The barn looked so lovely in the candlelight and the trees and leaves were absolutely gorgeous with their autumnal colours. The photos really show up the colours. We had many appreciative comments about the food – everybody loved the food and we have brought home a lot of cheese which might take a while to get through and there was more than enough to go around. We came home with just 9 bottles of wine and champagne so the waiters definitely got the wine out too which was what we wanted. All the best and thanks again. Vanessa.
