I have visited Gloucester Cathedral a few times but this was the first time I had had the opportunity to photograph a wedding there. It is a beautiful building and makes for some stunning photography. I was able to take a position high in the Organ Gallery that gave me a great vantage point for when Karen arrived and during the service.
After the service the guest were taken to the reception in an old double decker London bus. The wedding reception was being held at Karen & Johns home or more accurately in their garden. A larger marque had been erected and and adjoining paddock was converted into a car park for the day.
The relaxed atmosphere of a home venue made for some very natural candid photography and we took some time to mingle with the guests and get shoot a little reportage and capture a little of the spirit of the day.
The evening was topped of by a very 70’s glam rock band that had everybody up dancing and generally having a good time.
