Caswell House Wedding

Caswell House Wedding.

Kirsten & Ben’s wedding at Caswell House started with Kirsten & her bridesmaids getting ready at her family home in Cirencester. I was there second shooting for the talented Adam Drake and his lovely wife Lucy. As a wedding photographer I think it is important to work with other photographers to help keep me fresh, share ideas and techniques. Plus Adam and Lucy are always fun to work with.

After getting a few bridal preparation photographs I left Adam with the bride and I went off to meet the groom and his groomsman. They were relaxing  at the Plough Inn, Cold Ashton. I knew this was going to be a fun day as I passed the pub looking for a place to park and saw Ben and his groomsmen stood outside in kilts, it might sound a bit stereotypical but the scots can drink and like a good laugh.

The Pough Inn

After introducing myself I circled around getting some nice candid photographs of the guys and some guests arriving. One of the guests approached me and once she took of her sun glasses I recognised her. She was a bridesmaid at Nadine and Robs wedding . I photographed their wedding at Deer Park last year. It’s a small world and a happy one.

Cold Ashton Church.

The wedding service was to be held at Cold Ashton Church. It was just a short walk from the Plough and next to Bens old primary school. At the school the kids were waiting to greet the couple and their guest, along with a single scots piper.

The church was filled with guests and well-wishers. The service simple but heartfelt, the whole day had a nice family feel to it.

After the wedding service the children from the school where lined up along the school wall each complete with hand full of confetti, all ready to congratulate the newly weds. Along the other side of the walkway were the wedding guests.

From here we all made our way to Caswell House for the rest of the days festivities. Caswell house is a beautiful wedding venue with stunning private gardens. We had access to for some photographs with the newly-wed couple.

The staff at Caswell House helped ensure the day ran smoothly and were very professional, even looking after us very well.

The rest of the day followed the normal routine. I mingled around the guests getting natural candid photographs. At the same time Adam took care of the formal group/family photographs.

The speeches were lighthearted and fun and included one or two unexpected moments from the best men, but were all in good taste.

The first dance was sweet and as the couple danced to the band as their friends and family gathered round. Everybody quickly joined them on the dance floor.

We left the couple shortly after to enjoy the rest of their wedding day. All in all another amazing day and a reminder of why I love my work so much.
