Adi and Jon’s Malvern Hills Wedding

Malvern Hills Wedding.

Adi & Jon’s Malvern hills wedding day was a beautiful day. They were married in Birtsmorton Court in the gorgeous Malvern Hills. As wedding photographers based in Southport, it was lovely going back to this beautiful part of the world. I am lucky enough to have photographed a few weddings at this stunning venue.

Adi & Jon are such a lovely couple and looking back through the photographs it was great to see the way they looked at each other and remembering how much fun their friends and family were.
Thank you both and congratulations on the birth of your first child, the beautiful Emily, I hope 2014 brings you all every happiness x

  1. The Elgar Room
For that very special day in your life why not book the Elgar Room at Malvern Registry office, located at the Council House in Great Malvern.

The Council House, once known as Priory Mansion, was built in 1874 by Alfred Speer, who demolished the previous house known as The Priory.

The Council House still retains many of its original features from the ornate main entrance with its spires and gargoyles, to the wood panelled lobby and hall. The grand staircase with its griffins, lead up to a large colourful stained glass window, which is a must for your photographs.

We are ideally located close to the centre of Great Malvern in the grounds of Priory Park which once formed the grounds to the house.

The Elgar Room has been refurbished to preserve and enhance the room’s Victorian features. Combined with the beautiful views across Priory Park, it creates a wonderfully romantic setting for Wedding and Civil Ceremonies.

After your ceremony you will step out into the beautiful grounds of Priory Park with its Swanpool, quaint bridges and Victorian bandstand, with the stunning backdrop of the famous Malvern Hills. What better location for those cherished photographs and videos of your special day.

To comply with Fire regulations the maximum capacity of the Elgar room is 50. There is disabled access to the Council House to ensure that everyone can attend your special day.

    Book the Elgar Room
    2014 – 2015: £100 for a half hour ceremony – £200 for an hour long ceremony

To book the Elgar room at Malvern Registry office please contact: 01684 862151.

Parking is restricted at the Council House, with the exception of the Bride and Groom vehicles, all other visitors are requested to use the public car parks in Priory Road and Grange Road.
The fee quoted for the Elgar Room is for the hire of the room.
A separate fee is payable for the registrars attendance.
Bookings for the Elgar room over one month old will not be refunded.
Amendments and cancellations will incur a charge.

  2. OldCastle Estate is a truly unique country wedding venue that is simply perfect for your big day

The Tudor House and Orangery located in the picturesque village of Colwall; tucked delicately in The Malvern Hills; it boasts breath-taking views of both the stunning landscape and elegant gardens in the grounds of the property.

OldCastle looks as though it has been plucked from the pages of a fairytale and its location matches to perfection.

Set in the location of the dreamily rolling hillsides of Malvern, an ideal setting for a one of a kind wedding. To add that extra romance the echo of Elgar’s greatest works can be heard in the wind as it passes through the trees.

Located on the Herefordshire Worcestershire border OldCastle is easily accessible from both Counties, as well as Gloucestershire and has good travel links to the rest of the UK; just 2 and a half hours by train from London, so OldCastle offers you a magical setting for your ‘Country Escape’ celebration.

  3. Birtsmorton Court, situated in the lee of the Malvern Hills, is a romantic and secluded manor house. As a family owned and run business, a personal and friendly service is provided throughout the planning and running of your wedding.

Civil weddings of up to 80 can take place within the Court, or up to 200 within the Garden Room. A church adjacent to the estate grounds can also be used for wedding ceremonies or blessings, with agreement from the local vicar.

Surrounded by a substantial moat, the Court’s Terrace overlooks the water, providing an ideal venue for Reception Drinks, and guests can explore and enjoy the beautifully kept gardens beyond.

An extensive range of superb menus ensures any tastes can be catered for, and a beautiful venue to host your wedding breakfast and evening party allows you and your guests to enjoy every moment of your special day.

Birtsmorton court wedding church photosWhat I think of Birtsmorton Court as a wedding venue

I’ve photographed many weddings at Birtsmorton Court since first being recommended by them in 2006. This has been a variety of winter weddings, summer weddings and everything in between.

For Birtsmorton Court to fully showcase it’s true beauty it’s best seen on a gorgeous summers day. That way you’ll get to enjoy the hidden white garden and full extent of the grounds that surround Birtsmoron Court. None the less, if it’s English charm you’re after a winter wedding in the Great Hall definitely shows off the buildings character.

From a wedding photographers perspective Birtsmorton Court offers many options for your wedding photos. You have the extensive gardens, a lake, a moat and all ye old’e buildings to work with.

Birtsmorton court wedding fireworksBirtsmorton Court has the perfect option for a church wedding too with it right on site.

Practically there is ample parking on site for you and your wedding guests. A small amount of accommodation is available should you wish to stay over prior to the wedding, You can also use the Manor House for final bridal preparations, although I believe you can’t stop the night there.

To round off your wedding day Birtsmorton Court also offer a firework display viewed across the moat. The couple of occasions I’ve seen this it’s defiantly a good show – not you’re typical ‘letting off a few fireworks half heatedly!
