We met the David ,the groom, at the family farm in Stroud, Gloucestershire where he and his four best men were getting ready for the wedding day and recovering from the night before.
The weather was beautiful so we photographed the boys out in the field overlooking the stunning Gloucester scenery. David's younger sister is a keen photographer and took the opportunity to get some photographs herself.
From there we set off to join Emma ,the bride, and her two bridesmaids who had been staying is a beautiful lodge in Painswick, Gloucester. We joined them as they were putting on the finishing touches to their makeup and opening a nicely chilled bottle of Bolly.
Unlike the groom who was a little camera shy the girls posed and smiles naturally for photographs and all three looked stunning.
The Dress and shoes by Christian Louboutin, Paris (Corneille 100mm for those who need to know) were beautiful and deserved a photographic session of their own, Emma's accessories where simple and stylish.
From there I rushed over to catch up with David and his groomsmen in the pub over the road from the church in Slad. The boys were having a quick one to settle the nerves and stomaches from the night before. I photographed them trying to figure out how to attach their button holes and even one of the best men (who will remain anonymous) trying to figure out how to tie his tie.
The bride arrived only 20 minutes late and as she walked up the path to the church she looked stunning. She was accompanied by her father, bridesmaids and two beautiful flower girls complete with angel wings.
The church wedding service was relaxed and informal and as well as kissing the bride when they were pronounced married the groom also turned and gave a triumphant punch in the air.
After the service we headed back to the farm where a large marquee had be set up facing out across the stunning Slad vista where the guests could catch up with the newly married couple and enjoy come canapés. I used this time to wander around and photograph the guests candidly. I enjoy candid photography and these are always among my favorite photographs from any wedding day.
The Speeches were a good mix of heart felt and amusing and were very well received by the guests.
We took the couple for a walk in the orchard as the sun began to set to get some photographs of them in the beautiful evening light before heading back for the cutting of the cake and the finale of every wedding; the first dance.
It was a beautiful day at a stunning venue with a lovely couple and I was so proud to be be there photographing their wedding day.
